NFL roundup: Rice suspension set at two games (7:40 PM)
Yahoo! Sports: Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been suspended for the first two games of the regular season by the NFL after his offseason arrest on an assault charge stemming from an incident with his fiancee. Rice stands to lose more than $470,000 in base salary and will also be fined $58,000, per the report. Rice can practice with the team and play in preseason games, with the suspension beginning Aug. 30. He is eligible to be reinstated Sept. 12, meaning Rice will miss key home games against division rivals -- the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals and a Week 2 tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

Yahoo! Sports: Going on his fourth year in Buffalo, safety Aaron Williams is all too familiar with the cycle of emotions Bills players and fans endure during a season. ''Every year, everybody gets hyped-up for an incredible season, and then people get let down with a six-win season,'' Williams said upon reporting for the start of camp. The Bills have lost much of their relevance during a 14-season run in which they've failed to make the playoffs - the NFL's longest active drought. It's no surprise to Williams that some already look at Buffalo as an afterthought.

Patriots head to camp with restocked defense (2:51 PM)
Yahoo! Sports: The Patriots' defense struggled for much of last season. Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos won 26-16 and piled up 507 yards, the most New England allowed in Bill Belichick's 14 years as coach. So the Patriots stocked up on players to fix that. Cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner lead the group of defensive newcomers that includes linebacker James Anderson, end Will Smith and lineman Dominique Easley, their first-round draft choice.

Yahoo! Sports: A Toronto investment group led by rock star Jon Bon Jovi would not plan to move the Buffalo Bills out of western New York if it buys the team, according to the Toronto Sun. The Bills were put on the market after Hall of Fame owner Ralph Wilson died in March. Bon Jovi's group has reportedly been saying privately and plans to inform the trust managing the sale of the Bills that it will not relocate the team. Aside from Bon Jovi, the group also includes Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment chairman Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family.
